Yoga Studio Austin

10 Best Yoga Studio Austin

Yoga has swept the land. And the practice’s popularity can be seen in a variety of ways, including the sheer number of yoga studios in the United States, the amount of yoga gear available at various retailers, and even the enthusiastic conversations about yoga and meditation practices that can be overheard in public places, at least in major cities.

Yoga is currently known by 90 percent of individuals, compared to 75 percent three years ago. And 75% of Americans feel it is beneficial to their health. Over 80% of yoga practitioners are aware of the history and philosophy of the practice, which includes the fact that it began as a collection of mental activities rather than a physical one, as well as a set of guiding ethical ideals.

Basic pleasure, the fact that yoga is supposed to be “healthy” for a person, that it is a stress reliever, and that it helps individuals perform better were some of the reasons for the growing interest among those who didn’t presently practice but indicated they were likely to start.

Wanderlust Yoga

They also provide numerous types of yoga, such as vinyasa and YoStrong, to suit all levels of experience.

Review : I’ve been to quite a few yoga studios in the south side, but Wanderlust is my favorite. What really sets this studio apart is the atmosphere, the teachers, and their yoga philosophy. I am by no means a flexible person, but I feel like a yogi bad ass after every class. The classes are usually small enough that you get the attention you need to achieve each posture comfortably with props or adjustments. I don’t do yoga just for the workout, I practice to be more attuned to my body and spirituality, and this studio is perfect for those with the same goals. I’ve been to quite a few classes with different instructors and they are all wonderful. I can have the shittiest, most stressful day and walk out of Yoga Illumined feeling renewed and at peace. -Jenifer

Review : I am so grateful for Yoga Illumined. I am very picky/selective/discerning about yoga studios and yoga teacher training programs, and Yoga Illumined checks all of the items on my list phenomenally well indeed. The studio is very strongly based in all 8 limbs of yoga, as described in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, while at the same time being very accessible to newbies. I also deeply appreciate that a good diverse array of different expressions, styles, and types of yoga are taught, so I find that I never get bored with the classes. -Tydyn Rain S.

Review : Let it be known that I am NOT flexible or a yoga/pilates person. I am very self-conscious about my lack of core strength and flexibility. Despite this, I had such a great experience at Caitlin’s BStrong class. She had the perfect balance of guiding me through positions that were challenging, but also making me feel like I was successful. The class was tough, but also relaxing. The lavender towels and small “massage” at the end are great too! Won me over to come back to yoga again soon 🙂 – Katie

Review : This yoga studio is cute and clean. The staff were friendly but I get what other reviewers are saying about the crowdedness. At first, I thought the same as I had to keep shifting my mat over to fit more and more people but at the same time, there’s a very community bond that happens with the full class. It is kind of small and tight with the cubbies and benches on the hallway to the restroom but it was fine. I’ll go back. I enjoyed the actual class and instruction. -Diane

Review : Black Swan is a wonderful community yoga studio owned by one of the most fun Austinites! Shelby teaches awesome classes and makes us laugh out loud, super knowledgeable and hilarious! I have been to so many studios where everyone is so serious and I’m too uncomfortable to start up a conversation or ask a question. The staff and yogis at Black Swan are so helpful and friendly and it has become my yoga home. -Lolo

Review : Wow, this yoga studio is so good. It’s much more traditional. Chanting, etc. Just took an Ashtanga/Mysore class and learned about the Primary Series. Didn’t even know anything about it. I feel like I’ve been learning a trendy, bastardized version of yoga . Every single instructor so far has been challenging and is experienced! I’m very impressed. I’ve tried nearly every single yoga studio in Austin, including the trendy ones. This is by far the best and most traditional. I might break my renewal with my other yoga studio now. -Gookgette
